Pakistan Rice Importers: FAQ
By volume, the largest Pakistan rice importers are in the GCC (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq), East and West Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Senegal, Ivory Coast), and Europe (UK, EU hub through Netherlands). Importers submit an RFQ specifying variety, quantity in 20' FCL units, destination port, packaging, and incoterm. We issue a confirmed proforma within 24 business hours. Standard documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate, and pre-shipment inspection certificate. Additional documents by destination: GACC registration and certificate of quality for China; halal certificate for GCC and halal-market Africa; EU health certificate and MRL compliance for Europe.
One 20-foot FCL per variety (25-27 metric tons). 50 kg bags yield 500-540 bags per container; 25 kg bags yield 1,000-1,080 bags. Inspection included subject to MOQ: 5 FCL basmati, 10 FCL non-basmati.
GCC importers typically take 1121 basmati (sella or steam) and PK386. Africa imports PK386 and IRRI-6. Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon import parboiled IRRI-6; 100% broken rice is imported by Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau. Europe imports EU-compliant basmati. Use pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek. We include inspection subject to MOQ; inspection is available at buyer cost below MOQ. If a lot fails inspection, we reprocess or ship a new lot. We do not negotiate a reduced price on a failed lot. First-pass inspection rate: 99%.
