Understanding Incoterms
FOB vs CNF vs CIF
Three trade terms you will encounter when importing rice from Pakistan.
FOB (Free on Board)
Price includes rice cost, processing, SGS inspection, packaging, and loading onto the vessel at Karachi port. Buyer arranges and pays for ocean freight and insurance.
CNF / CFR (Cost and Freight)
Price includes everything in FOB plus ocean freight to the destination port. Buyer arranges and pays for marine cargo insurance. Most common term for bulk rice shipments.
CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight)
Price includes everything in CNF plus marine cargo insurance. Buyer receives the goods at the destination port with freight and insurance paid. Common for L/C transactions.

No. The calculator provides indicative estimates based on our latest published FOB prices and average freight rates. Actual CNF pricing depends on current vessel availability, bunker fuel surcharges, and port congestion. Request a firm quote for pricing valid 48 hours.
FOB Karachi includes: rice cost, processing to your specification, third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek) subject to MOQ, packaging in your chosen bag type, container stuffing at our mill, and delivery to Karachi port or Port Qasim.
Freight rates in the calculator are updated every 2-3 days based on market rates from our shipping partners. Actual freight is confirmed at time of booking and may vary based on vessel schedule and availability.
Minimum order for basmati rice is 2 x 20' FCL (~52 MT). For non-basmati (IRRI-6, IRRI-9), minimum is 5 x 20' FCL (~130 MT). Pricing is negotiable on orders of 10 x 20' FCL and above; request a confirmed quote from our export desk for your full volume requirement.
