Last week, the Vietnam Food Association (VFA) reported an ongoing increase in the prices of Vietnamese paddy and rice. The average price of paddy in the fields saw a rise of 214 VND, reaching 8,000 VND (0.31 USD) per kilo, with the highest reported price at 8,050 VND. The average price for paddy at warehouses also expanded by 183 VND, reaching 9,475 VND per kilo, with the highest recorded price at 9,650 VND.

In terms of broken rice, the prices increased as well. The price of 5% broken rice reached 14,200 VND per kilo, while 15% broken rice was priced at 13,950 VND per kilo, and 25% broken rice at 13,750 VND.

Premium white rice also saw a slight increase of 35 VND per kilo, reaching a price of 14,010 VND.

In the export market, the price of 5% broken rice reached 582 USD per tonne, surpassing Thailand’s price of 579 USD and Pakistan’s price of 581 USD.

Vietnam’s 25% broken rice was sold at 557 USD per tonne, whereas Thai rice was priced at 530 USD per tonne.

This increase in the prices of Vietnamese paddy and rice reflects the growing demand for Vietnamese products in the international market. With its reputation as a reliable rice exporter, Vietnam continues to make its mark in the global rice trade.
