Disturbing Scandal in Pakistan: Exploiting the Gaza Crisis

In the midst of the ongoing crisis in Gaza, a shocking scandal has come to light in Pakistan, particularly in Islamabad. Certain individuals, identifying themselves as ‘muftis’, are shamelessly taking advantage of the tragedy for their own personal gain.

According to reports, these so-called ‘muftis’ in Pakistan, specifically in Islamabad, have launched public appeals urging people to adopt orphaned children from Gaza. They have gone so far as to create WhatsApp groups to solicit consent from potential adoptive parents.

However, investigations have revealed a shocking truth. These individuals are not only soliciting money from families interested in adoption, but they are also disappearing once they receive payment. This exploitation of a humanitarian crisis for financial gain is deeply troubling.

The Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, Ahmed Rabei, categorically stated that no orphaned child has come to Pakistan from Gaza. He emphasized that this is not true and that no child will be coming from Palestine. The ambassador pointed out that it is highly unlikely for orphaned children to enter Pakistan without the knowledge of the Palestine embassy in Islamabad. He encouraged Pakistani citizens to remain vigilant against such deceptive tactics and refuse to fall prey to their schemes.

This is not the first time opportunistic individuals have taken advantage of a tragic situation in Pakistan. After the devastating earthquake in 2005, similar elements shamelessly established fraudulent charities that claimed to provide relief to the victims. However, instead of using the donations for their intended purpose, these deceptive entities diverted the funds for their own personal enrichment.

It is crucial for the public to be aware of these scams and remain cautious. Genuine charitable organizations and government channels should be the primary avenue for supporting those affected by crises. Exploiting the suffering of others for personal gain is not only unethical but also adds to the distress already experienced by those affected.
