Cambodia exported 449,325 tonnes of milled rice to international markets in the first nine months of 2022, a 10 percent increase over that last year, the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) report said on Monday.

The Kingdom bagged nearly $287 million in revenue from milled rice export from January to September this year, the statement added.

In the nine-month period of 2022, Cambodia exported milled rice to 55 destinations, of which nine countries accounted for more than 82 percent of the total export amount.

China and the EU remain the main markets for Cambodia’s milled rice, the CRF said. China purchased 198,107 tonnes from Cambodia during the period, accounting for 44.09 percent of total shipment, it said.

Other destinations are France at 14.83 percent, Malaysia at 5.58 percent, the Netherlands at 4.65 percent, Italy at 2.65 percent, Gabon at 2.63 percent, Brunei at 2.44 percent, Britain at 2.25 percent and Germany at 2.08 percent, CRF said.

Secretary-general of the Cambodia Rice Federation Lun Yeng said that the significant increase in the export of milled rice to the EU market reflected the demand for Cambodia’s milled rice in the bloc.
