Shillong, April 21: A major fire broke out on Sunday at the Maharashtra BJP office here in Nariman Point, fortunately causing no casualties. The fire that broke out at around 4.55 p.m. has been successfully brought under control. The quick response from firefighters ensured that no one was trapped in the building during the incident.

Preliminary reports suggest that the fire originated from a short circuit, which occurred during the ongoing renovation work at the office kitchen. Eyewitnesses observed that the fire started during welding activities and quickly spread due to the presence of documents and wooden furniture in the office. As a result, smoke engulfed the entire vicinity.

Despite the chaos, the office staff acted swiftly and managed to evacuate the premises safely. It is fortunate that no one was harmed in the incident.
