Vietnam’s Global Leadership in Export Rice Prices
The Vietnam Food Association (VFA) has reported that Vietnamese rice prices in the international market experienced a significant increase of $3-8 USD per tonne last week. As a result, Vietnam has regained its position as the leader in export rice prices.
Among the various types of rice, the prices of 5% broken rice from Vietnam have reached $585 per tonne, surpassing those of Thailand and Pakistan by $3 and $10 respectively. Similarly, the price of 25% broken rice from Vietnam stands at $555 per tonne, which is $23 higher than Thailand and $13 higher than Pakistan.
Furthermore, the price of 100% broken rice from Vietnam remains stable at $470 per tonne. However, it is still higher than the prices of Thailand and Pakistan by $21 and $25 respectively.
These price increases have contributed to Vietnam’s competitive edge in the global rice market. Vietnamese rice exporters can now enjoy higher profits due to the surge in prices.
It is worth noting that the increase in Vietnamese rice prices is a positive development for the country’s rice industry. With the rising competition and demand for rice in the international market, it is crucial for Vietnam to maintain its edge in terms of pricing and quality.
