Ambassadors from Four Central Asian Nations Connect with LCCI’s Business Community

Ambassadors from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan recently visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to discuss ways to improve trade relations. During the meeting, the envoys and LCCI President Kashif Anwar inaugurated a Business Kiosk, which will boost trade between the countries.

LCCI President Kashif Anwar highlighted the need to explore the trade potential between Pakistan and Central Asian countries. He emphasized that sectors such as agriculture, textiles, information technology, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, sports goods, and tourism present great opportunities for collaboration and economic ties.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atadjan Movlamov mentioned the vast potential for trade between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. He suggested that Pakistan could export rice, sugar, vehicles, motorbikes, and auto parts to Turkmenistan and import LPG and petroleum products. He highlighted the importance of collaboration for economic development.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov emphasized the need for connectivity, trade, and mutual relations. He mentioned Azerbaijan’s investment opportunities, including the Karabakh region, and highlighted the country’s status as a desired tourism destination.

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Ulanbek Totuiaev discussed the growing trade volume between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. He mentioned direct flights between the two countries and invited businessmen to participate in the Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan exhibition in September.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafin emphasized regional collaboration and connectivity. He mentioned the use of Pakistani sea ports and the Karakoram Highway to deliver goods to other countries. He also mentioned the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Kazakhstan and the agreement between Lahore and Shymkent.

LCCI President Kashif Anwar highlighted the trade potential in Central Asian countries and the need for concerted efforts from both the private sectors and embassies. He emphasized improving banking channels and increasing the frequency of direct flights to enhance trade relations.

The inauguration of the Business Kiosk was seen as a significant milestone in enhancing economic collaboration. The kiosk will provide valuable information and opportunities for LCCI members to explore business opportunities in Central Asian Republics.

Overall, the meeting between the Central Asian ambassadors and the LCCI highlighted the potential for increased trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Central Asian countries.
