4 killed, 5 injured in explosion at Imran Khan’s rally in southwest Pakistan
Four people were tragically killed and five others injured in a terrorist attack on a political rally in Balochistan, Pakistan. The blast occurred during an election rally for a candidate of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. The PTI party condemned the incident and demanded that the government focus on suppressing terrorists. Emergency measures were put in place in hospitals in Quetta and Sibi, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called for a report on the incident. Despite the attack, the government of Balochistan remains determined to hold the elections as planned. This incident follows a separate thwarted attack on a high-security jail in the province. According to a security report, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces are the main centers of violence in Pakistan. The national elections are scheduled for February 8, with the army providing security.
