Rice Mills Accused of Smog Production: 14 Facilities Sealed
Kasur Takes Action Against Smog-Causing Rice Mills
Kasur, a district in Pakistan, is cracking down on smog-causing rice mills in an effort to combat air pollution. On Tuesday, the district administration sealed 14 rice mills in Tehsil Chunian and issued warning notices to 15 other mills.
The district’s Environment Officer, Ali Ijaz, explained that Section 144 has been imposed on industrial units and crop residue burning throughout the district. This action has been taken in response to the dust being thrown on the roads, which has led to accidents and contributed to the smog problem.
Ijaz emphasized that the district administration is determined to address the issue with strict measures and ensure compliance with regulations. Intensive efforts are being made to control smog and its detrimental effects on the environment and public health.
