Government Permits Export of Non-Basmati White Rice to Seven Countries

The government has recently announced that it has granted permission for the export of 10,34,800 tonnes of non-basmati white rice to seven different countries. This move comes as a part of efforts to meet the food security needs of these nations and to boost domestic supply. The exports will be facilitated through the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), according to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

Earlier this year, exports of non-basmati white rice were banned in order to prioritize the domestic market. However, certain countries were granted permission by the government to import non-basmati white rice in order to meet their food security needs. The countries permitted for export include Nepal, Cameroon, Cote D’ Ivore, Guinea, Malaysia, Philippines, and Seychelles.

The quantity of non-basmati white rice notified for export to each country is as follows:

– Nepal: 95,000 tonnes
– Cameroon: 1,90,000 tonnes
– Cote D’ Ivore: 1,42,000 tonnes
– Guinea: 1,42,000 tonnes
– Malaysia: 1,70,000 tonnes
– Philippines: 2,95,000 tonnes
– Seychelles: 800 tonnes

These exports will not only help meet the food security needs of these nations but also contribute to the promotion of rice exports from Pakistan. It is an opportunity for rice exporters in the country to showcase their high-quality products to international markets.

Pakistan has long been recognized for its rice export industry, with numerous rice exporters and suppliers catering to the global market. The availability of white broken rice, in particular, has made Pakistan a key player in the rice trade. The country boasts a diverse range of rice varieties, including the famous basmati rice.

Rice suppliers in Pakistan, such as HAS Rice Pakistan, have played a crucial role in establishing the country as a major rice exporter. They offer a wide range of rice varieties, including the popular IRRI 6 rice, which accounts for a significant portion of the country’s rice exports.

HAS Rice Pakistan, one of the leading rice suppliers in Karachi, has successfully carved a niche for itself in the rice business in Pakistan. The company prides itself on its quality products, competitive prices, and excellent customer service. They have established strong partnerships with rice mills in Pakistan, which ensures a steady supply of high-quality rice to meet the demands of the global market.

The website features a comprehensive price list, including prices for IRRI 6 rice and basmati rice. This transparency allows customers to make informed decisions while placing orders.

With the government’s support and the dedication of rice exporters in Pakistan, the country’s rice industry continues to thrive. The export of non-basmati white rice to these seven countries opens new avenues for growth and expansion. It not only showcases Pakistan’s potential as a rice exporter but also strengthens its position in the global rice market.
