Punjab Cabinet’s Approval of Ramzan Nigehban Package
Punjab Cabinet Approves Ramzan Nigehban Package to Assist 6.5 Million Deserving Families
In an effort to provide support to those in need during the holy month of Ramzan, the Punjab cabinet has given the green light to the Ramzan Nigehban Package. This initiative aims to assist 6.5 million deserving families by delivering essential items directly to their doorsteps.
Maryam Nawaz, the newly appointed Punjab CM, chaired the cabinet meeting and stressed the importance of ensuring the quality of the distributed items. She emphasized that the bags containing the packages are equipped with a QR scan code and that the pictures of the package receivers have been securely recorded.
Each bag is packed with 10kg of flour, 2kg of sugar, 2kg of ghee, and 2kg of rice. To guarantee the quality of these items, the district administration and the Punjab Food Authority have been assigned the responsibility of conducting thorough inspections. They will focus on examining the ghee, rice, flour, gram flour, and rice included in the packages.
To ensure a smooth distribution process, the Punjab CM has instructed teams from the Urban Unit and the Special Branch to conduct field surveys. Additionally, a special commission of ministers will oversee the distribution of the bags to deserving families.
Maryam Nawaz has also taken measures to prevent exploitation by profiteers during Ramzan. Furthermore, Sasta Bazars, offering affordable goods, will be set up at the district level throughout Punjab.
By implementing the Ramzan Nigehban Package, the Punjab government aims to provide necessary assistance to 6.5 million deserving families, ensuring that they receive essential items without any inconvenience. This initiative showcases the government’s commitment to serving its citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramzan.
