US-Pakistani Philanthropist Honored with Pakistan’s Second-Highest Civilian Award

Tanweer Ahmed, a renowned philanthropist and successful businessman based in the US, was recently honored by President Asif Ali Zardari with Pakistan’s second-highest civilian award, the “Hilal-e-Imtiaz,” and the title “Pride of Pakistan.” This prestigious recognition was bestowed upon him for his significant contributions to Pakistan’s development and for fostering stronger ties between Pakistan and the United States of America.

COAS General Munir had previously praised Ahmed for his contributions, particularly his generous donation of $9 million towards the construction of an IT Tower at NUST. He also commended Ahmed for his efforts to promote IT education in Pakistan and provide aid during natural disasters.

In addition to the accolades received, Ahmed was bestowed an honorary doctorate degree by Indus University in recognition of his services to the IT and health sectors. This further exemplifies his dedication to making a difference in these crucial fields.
