Paksat MM1 Successfully Reaches Earth Orbit
Pakistan has successfully launched its second communication satellite, PakSat MM1, into orbit. The satellite, launched by Pakistan’s National Space Agency-Suparco, has reached an altitude of 38,786 km above the Earth and is currently located at 38.2 East. Equipped with advanced communication equipment, PakSat MM1 is expected to provide the fastest internet facility in the country.
Since reaching the orbit, the satellite’s solar panels have started functioning. In order to ensure its proper functioning, various tests will be performed to assess the satellite’s condition in orbit.
PakSat MM1 was launched from the XiChang Satellite Launch Centre (XSLC) in China on May 30. The satellite is a result of collaboration between Suparco and China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC). Designed based on advanced communication technologies, PakSat MM1 is a geostationary satellite that will greatly enhance the satellite-based communication services in Pakistan. It is expected to cater to the needs of both commercial and government users.
This successful launch marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s space technology and communication capabilities. With the establishment of PakSat MM1, the country is poised to make great strides in the field of satellite-based communication.
