Pakistani Food Companies Present Diverse Product Range at Shanghai Exhibition
Nine prestigious Pakistani companies showcased their products at the esteemed Salon International De L’Alimentation (SIAL) in Shanghai. The exhibition, which took place from May 28 to 30, attracted thousands of exhibitors from over 75 countries and regions, offering a platform to showcase innovative food and beverage products. The Pakistani contingent made a strong presence in the imported grocery section, highlighting the country’s rich agricultural heritage and growing capabilities in food processing and logistics.
The Pakistani companies represented a diverse range of sectors, including logistics, rice mills, frozen meals, and various fruit, juice, and snack products. Their aim was to capture the attention of buyers not only from China but also from other participating countries. One of the standout companies was the National Logistics Corporation, which emphasized its expertise in handling international shipments, particularly in the food and beverage industry. Their robust network ensures efficient and timely delivery from Pakistan to China and beyond.
The rice mills sector showcased high-quality rice varieties, including broken rice, long-grain rice, and specialty rice. These companies have been successfully exporting rice to China for a significant period and viewed the exhibition as an opportunity to showcase the unique qualities of Pakistani rice and other food products. Kumar Kewlani, representing one of the participating rice mills, expressed enthusiasm about the exhibition, stating that it provides an excellent platform to showcase Pakistani rice and other food products.
Moreover, Pakistani companies impressed with their diverse range of ready-to-eat frozen meals. These meals included traditional Pakistani dishes like curries, biryanis, and naans, as well as international flavors tailored to cater to a global audience. With convenient and sustainable packaging, these frozen meals offer a quick and healthy meal option for busy consumers.
In addition to product displays, SIAL Shanghai 2024 hosted 10 themed forums covering various topics related to the food and beverage industry. These forums brought together industry experts, businesses, and thought leaders to discuss the latest trends and hot topics. They covered areas such as new retail, supply chain management, meat products, imported foods, food technology, Chinese cuisine, food and beverage investment, beverages, and food distribution.
This exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for Pakistani companies to showcase their products to a global audience and expand their export market. The rich agricultural heritage and growing capabilities in food processing and logistics of Pakistan were prominently highlighted.
