security forces eliminate five terrorists in foiled coordinated assault on Mach jail in Balochistan province
At least five terrorists from a banned group were neutralized when Pakistani security forces successfully countered three coordinated attacks by militants. The targeted location was the high-security Central Mach Jail in Balochistan province. This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by the country.
According to a senior police official, the militants unleashed a barrage of 15 rockets at the jail on Monday night. The facility currently houses dangerous militants and prisoners on death row. Fortunately, the attacks were promptly thwarted by the Pakistan Army and Frontier Constabulary Balochistan.
Jan Achakzai, Balochistan’s caretaker Information Minister, commended the swift action taken by the security forces. He confirmed that five militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army were killed during the operation. Despite the terrorists successfully launching rockets at the jail building, they failed to strike their intended target.
While unconfirmed reports suggest that two policemen lost their lives during the attack and a truck driver was injured, official confirmation of casualties or injuries is yet to be provided. The rockets were fired from nearby mountains and caused explosions in various parts of Mach town.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by militants in the region and the constant vigilance required to maintain security. The authorities are commended for their prompt response and successful neutralization of the attackers.
