President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, recently extended an invitation to Saudi importers to consider importing agricultural products from Pakistan. Recognizing Pakistan’s production of quality food products, Bakhtawari highlighted Saudi Arabia as an import-based market heavily reliant on supplies from foreign sources. In order to meet the demands of its consumers, Bakhtawari urged Saudi Arabia to explore importing agricultural products from Pakistan at competitive prices.

During a visit to the ICCI, Bakhtawari discussed the potential for Pakistani wheat, rice, fruits, and vegetables to thrive in the Saudi market. He assured General Manager Fadel Abdallah of Al-Shaqaq Trading Est of ICCI’s full cooperation in enhancing the exports of these products to Saudi Arabia. In addition to agricultural products, Bakhtawari also highlighted the potential for Pakistani meat, poultry products, textiles, IT products, surgical instruments, sports goods, leather products, and construction materials to find favorable markets in Saudi Arabia.

Bakhtawari emphasized the need for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to prioritize the improvement of bilateral trade and investment relations. Such efforts, he contended, would create new job opportunities and bring prosperity to both nations. ICCI pledged its unwavering support in developing strong business linkages between the private sectors of both countries. By doing so, they hope to explore untapped areas of cooperation and further strengthen their economic ties.

During the discussion, Fadel Abdallah expressed interest in exploring direct imports of food products, fruits, vegetables, seafood, and livestock from Pakistan. He stressed the importance of promoting direct trade between the two nations, as it would yield mutually beneficial outcomes for both people and economies.

Zafar Bakhtawari, former President of ICCI and Secretary General of UBG Pakistan, highlighted the strong and cordial relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the potential for further strengthening these ties by enhancing bilateral trade and economic relations.
