Pakistan Rice Exporters Association (REA) has released data showing a significant increase in rice exports from Pakistan. The data reveals that in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, rice exports reached 1.42 million metric tons, worth $682 million.

According to the REA, the increase in rice exports is attributed to the efforts of rice exporters, who have been actively promoting Pakistani rice in international markets. The association has been working closely with the government to facilitate rice exports through various initiatives and policies.

The data further indicates that the demand for Pakistani rice has been particularly strong in Middle Eastern and African countries. These markets accounted for the majority of rice exports during this period.

Among the different types of rice exported, Basmati rice has been the most popular choice among buyers. Pakistan is well-known for its high-quality Basmati rice, which is favored for its long grains, unique aroma, and excellent taste. The export of Basmati rice alone accounted for 429,200 metric tons, valued at $405 million.

Apart from Basmati rice, other varieties such as Irri-6 and white broken rice also witnessed a surge in exports. Irri-6 rice exports reached 516,100 metric tons, valued at $217 million, while white broken rice exports stood at 217,000 metric tons, valued at $60 million.

The increase in rice exports from Pakistan has not only contributed to the country’s economy but has also helped strengthen its position as a leading rice exporter in the world. With its fertile land and favorable climate, Pakistan has the potential to further expand its rice exports and capture a larger share of the global rice market.

To support the growth of the rice export industry, the government of Pakistan has been implementing policies and initiatives to improve the quality and standards of rice production. This includes the establishment of rice mills and the promotion of modern farming techniques.

In conclusion, the significant increase in rice exports from Pakistan is a testament to the hard work and dedication of rice exporters in promoting Pakistani rice in international markets. With the support of the government and the continuous efforts of the Rice Exporters Association, Pakistan is poised to become a major player in the global rice market.
