Export of Pakistani Food Surges with a 30% Increase

Islamabad: The export of Pakistani food has experienced a significant boost, with a remarkable 30% increase in the first four months of this fiscal year.

According to the Institute of Statistics, food items exports have surged by 30% from July to October, surpassing $1.944 billion.

Rice export alone witnessed a staggering rise of $710 million, showcasing a 30% growth. Fruits, on the other hand, exhibited a 13.53% increase, contributing to a volume of $108.9 million. Additionally, spice exports further soared by 24.56%, reaching a total value of $34.7 million.

The report highlights that oil seeds and fruits recorded an exceptional growth rate of 292%, acquiring a revenue of $306.8 million. Sugar exports also soared by 100%, generating a revenue of $2.1 million.

Moreover, meat exports displayed a notable growth of 18.77%, generating a revenue of $152.5 million. However, fish and vegetable exports experienced a decline of 8% and 38%, respectively.

The report further states a 21% decline in tobacco exports from Pakistan during the July to October period.
