Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, the Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), paid a visit to the Pakistan Pavilion at the ongoing Gulf Food Exhibition held at the Dubai Trade Centre. During his visit, Motiwala commended the efforts of the exhibitors in promoting exports and interacted with them at their stalls showcasing Pakistani products.

Motiwala highlighted the focus on enhancing food and food allied items, which has resulted in a significant increase in exports in this sector. It is projected that exports of food items will surpass $7 billion by the end of the financial year, compared to the previous annual exports of $4 billion in this sector.

According to Motiwala, boosting exports of Pakistani products is crucial to achieving economic prosperity, and TDAP is playing a substantial role in this national objective.

There has been a noteworthy increase of 300 to 400% in the exports of sesame seeds this year, which is an extremely encouraging development. Additionally, exports of Pakistani rice are expected to exceed $3 billion, doubling the previous figures of $1.5 billion.

Motiwala expressed his satisfaction with the growing number of Pakistani exhibitors participating in the Gulf Food exhibition, thanks to the assistance provided by TDAP. The participation of Pakistani exporters in this mega food exhibition has been overwhelming.

Overall, the efforts to promote Pakistani products in the food industry are yielding positive results, and the increasing exports reflect the success of these endeavors.
