E-Commerce 101: Boosting Pakistan’s Export Potential
Lahore, Pakistan (Commerce Reporter) – In a collaborative effort between the Pakistan Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and various chambers of commerce, the National Exporter Training Program and E-Commerce 101 sessions were organized from December 19th to December 22nd. These training programs aimed to equip new exporters and manufacturers from Leh, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Wahari with the necessary tools to thrive in the global market.
Deputy Manager Afshan Aros introduced informative modules designed to help potential exporters convert their export requirements into tangible exports. Meanwhile, Assistant Director Adil Mukhtar provided training on E-Commerce 101 and specifically touched upon the use of Amazon as an e-commerce platform. Assistant Director Multan, Ali Umar Tipu, shed light on the incredible opportunities offered by TDAP in terms of exporter training and e-commerce.
Representatives from the State Bank of Pakistan were also present to discuss export financing and subsidy schemes, providing valuable insights to the attendees. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including export documents and procedures, becoming an exporter, trade map tools, INCOTERMS, export financing schemes, payment methods, different types of e-commerce, e-commerce revenue models, and the Pakistan Trade Portal.
The training sessions saw the participation of producers and manufacturers from various industries, including fruits and vegetables, textiles, cement, poultry, furniture, rice, handicrafts, jewelry, and engineering goods. These sessions were held across multiple locations in South Punjab, providing a platform for growth and knowledge-sharing.
The Director of Multan emphasized the crucial role played by the TDAP in promoting and elevating exports in the region. With the support of organizations like the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Leh, the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Multan, and the Dera Ghazi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, these training programs aimed to empower exporters and strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global market.
