President Asif Ali Zardari, in a meeting with Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood, the Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Cote d’Ivoire, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Cote d’Ivoire for mutual benefit.
President Zardari highlighted the cordial relations between the two nations and urged Ambassador Mahmood to explore opportunities for advancing trade and economic cooperation. Specifically, he emphasized the potential for increasing Pakistani exports of rice, medical equipment, pharmaceutical products, and sports goods to Cote d’Ivoire.
In addition to trade, President Zardari emphasized the need to enhance cultural relations and people-to-people contacts to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
President Zardari further encouraged Ambassador Mahmood to make concerted efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation. He congratulated Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood on his appointment and extended his best wishes for a successful tenure in fostering stronger ties between Pakistan and Cote d’Ivoire.
