Pakistan and Cote d’Ivoire Look to Enhance Economic and Cultural Ties
In an effort to strengthen bilateral relations, Pakistan and Cote d’Ivoire are exploring opportunities for increased trade and cooperation. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his desire to enhance economic and cultural ties between the two countries during a meeting with Ambassador-designate Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Zardari emphasized the potential for expanding exports of Pakistani rice, medical and surgical equipment, pharmaceutical products, and sports goods to Cote d’Ivoire. These industries have shown promise, and the president believes that by increasing trade with Cote d’Ivoire, Pakistan can greatly benefit from these opportunities.
Along with trade, President Zardari stressed the importance of promoting cultural relations and people-to-people contacts. By fostering friendship and understanding between the two nations, both countries can create a stronger bond.
President Zardari congratulated Ambassador Mahmood on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure in strengthening the ties between Pakistan and Cote d’Ivoire.
