Pakistani Army Initiates Inquiry Against Former DG ISI
Pakistan Army Forms Inquiry Committee to Investigate Charges Against Former DG ISI Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed
In a recent development, the Pakistan Army has decided to form an inquiry committee to investigate the charges against former DG ISI Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed ®. This decision comes in response to a complaint lodged by a property tycoon, as well as the directive of the apex court of Pakistan.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has voiced his skepticism about the report produced by the previous inquiry commission, which was tasked with investigating the Faizabad sit-in. According to Asif, the report lacks authenticity and reliability.
During an interview with a private TV channel, Asif criticized the Faizabad commission, stating that neither Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed nor former army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa appeared before the commission. Instead, Asif pointed out that only political workers, like himself, were present.
Asif further expressed his dissatisfaction with the commission, stating that he found it lacking in seriousness when he appeared before it. He called on the Faizabad inquiry commission to reflect on whether or not it fulfilled its duty.
This inquiry committee will be tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the charges against Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed, and its findings will be eagerly awaited by the public.
