Pakistani Food Companies Display Wide Range of Products at SIAL Shanghai 2024
Nine leading Pakistani companies showcased their products at the 2024 Salon International De L’Alimentation (SIAL) in Shanghai, including logistics, rice mills, frozen meals, and various fruits, juices, salt products, candies, snacks, and dried fruits. The exhibition, which took place from May 28 to 30, featured over 5,000 exhibitors from 75 countries and regions, showcasing more than 350,000 products.
SIAL Shanghai has become an important platform for Pakistani food exporters to showcase their products globally. The participating Pakistani contingent highlighted the country’s agricultural heritage and its growing capabilities in food processing and logistics. With a focus on quality and variety, Pakistani exhibitors aimed to attract buyers from China and other countries.
The National Logistics Corporation, represented by Director Plans Muhammad Yousaf, was one of the standout companies at the event. Yousaf emphasized the company’s expertise in handling international shipments, particularly in the food and beverage industry. The company aims to introduce its logistics services to potential customers and partners, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products from Pakistan to China and beyond.
In the rice mill sector, Pakistani companies displayed their high-quality rice varieties, including broken rice, long-grain rice, and specialty rice. Exhibitor Kumar Kewlani mentioned that they have been exporting rice to China for some time and exhibiting at SIAL Shanghai is a great opportunity to showcase the unique qualities of Pakistani rice and other food products.
The frozen meal section was also a highlight at the exhibition, with Pakistani companies presenting a diverse range of ready meals, including traditional Pakistani dishes and international flavors. Packaged in convenient and sustainable packaging, these frozen meals cater to busy consumers looking for quick and healthy meal options.
Aside from product displays, SIAL Shanghai 2024 featured 10 themed forums discussing various topics related to the food and beverage industry. These forums brought together industry experts, businesses, and thought leaders to discuss the latest trends and hot topics in the industry.
