Netherlands Ambassador Discusses Strengthening Trade Ties with Pakistan
The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan, Henny Fokel de Vries, recently held a meeting with Dr Gohar Ejaz, the Minister of Commerce and Industries, to explore ways to enhance collaboration between the two nations. The meeting highlighted the existing strong trade relationship, especially in textiles, and discussed the Netherlands’ interest in livestock and potatoes from Pakistan.
Ambassador de Vries, recognizing the potential for a robust agricultural partnership, emphasized Pakistan’s abundance of land and labor. She expressed her commitment to further explore trade growth opportunities, with a focus on technology and academic exchange. Minister Ejaz highlighted Pakistan’s investment potential in IT, agriculture, and mining, positioning the country as an attractive destination for foreign investors.
The commerce minister also highlighted the Netherlands as a key trade partner and emphasized the importance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in facilitating foreign direct investment. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with the Netherlands on technology transfer in agriculture.
