Continued Backing for the Kashmir Cause: A Pledge for Ongoing Support
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi reaffirmed the government and people of Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmir cause. In a message on the occasion of Kashmir Self-Determination Day, Solangi stated that Pakistan will continue to politically, diplomatically, and morally support the Kashmiris until they achieve their rightful rights and freedom.
Both sides of the Line of Control and Kashmiris around the world are celebrating the right to self-determination today. Solangi highlighted that the United Nations Security Council had granted the Kashmiri people the right to decide their own future on January 5, 1949. However, 75 years have passed, and this promise remains unfulfilled.
Solangi urged the United Nations to honor its commitments and support the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination. The people of Jammu and Kashmir eagerly await a peaceful resolution in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Emphasizing India’s efforts to assert control over occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Solangi referred to a recent Supreme Court decision on December 11, 2023, regarding the disputed territory’s status. India’s actions aim to alter the demographic composition of occupied Jammu and Kashmir based on religion.
