The pipeline is expected to benefit Pakistan’s energy sector by $5 billion and alleviate the issue of gas and electricity load shedding. It will also contribute to further development in the industry.
The Iranian Consul General acknowledged the pressures faced by both Pakistan and Iran on this issue, but stated that the nature of the pressure had changed. He assured that all issues would be discussed during President Raisi’s visit to Pakistan.
Additionally, Mohdfar mentioned that six trade markets would be opened on the Pak-Iran border, with one already inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This initiative aims to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
