Indonesia calls for stronger focus on trade
The Consul General of Indonesia, Dr June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, has emphasized the need for boosting trade and investment opportunities between Indonesia and Pakistan. Currently, the trade volume between the two countries stands at US$4.5 billion, representing only 4.4% of Pakistan’s overall trade volume with its partner countries.
Dr Hadiningrat pointed out that Indonesia’s trade volume with Pakistan accounts for just 0.9% of its total global trade volume, indicating the need for further cooperation between the two nations.
During a meeting at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Indonesian consul general highlighted the importance of understanding the challenges hindering trade and investment between the two countries. He praised the efforts made by both countries, citing the recent import of 500,000 metric tonnes of rice from Pakistan to Indonesia.
