Gold Price Rises in Local and International Markets

On Tuesday, the per tola price of 24 karats of gold witnessed an increase of Rs.400 in the local bullion market. It was available at Rs.227,300, compared to the previous day’s price of Rs.226,900 per tola. Similarly, the rates for 10 grams of 24 karats of gold went up by Rs.343 to settle at Rs.194,873 from the previous day’s rates of Rs.194,530. The rates for 10 grams of 22 karats of gold also increased to Rs.178,634 from Rs.178,319.

However, the rates for white plate (silver) remained constant at Rs.2,580 per tola and Rs.2,211.93 for 10 grams. Despite the fluctuations in gold prices, the silver market remained stable.

In the international market, the price of gold also observed an increase of $3 per ounce, settling at $2,173 compared to the previous day’s price of $2,170. The recent increase in the price of gold in the international market can be attributed to Chinese investors investing in the bullion market as a safe haven due to the shrinking real estate and construction sectors.

It is important to note that gold prices in the local market are often influenced by the prices in the international market. Therefore, any fluctuations or trends in the international market have a direct impact on gold prices in Pakistan.
