Businessmen Panel Vows to Strengthen Pakistan’s Economy and Trade

KARACHI – Abdul Ghani Usman, the Businessmen Panel (BMP) candidate for Senior Vice President in the upcoming FPCCI elections, emphasized the need for all institutions in Pakistan to be on the right path to attract investments into the country. Speaking at a dinner in his honor, Usman expressed his commitment to formulating effective economic policies under the BMP’s leadership to ensure economic stability and promote trade and industry growth.

Usman was joined by other BMP candidates, including presidential candidate Muhammad Ali, vice-presidential candidate Rafiq Sulaiman, Imran Tessori, Tawqir Malik, and prominent business leader of Balochistan, Naveed Baloch.

Haji Ghani Usman highlighted the past success of the BMP’s elected officials in resolving the business community’s concerns by presenting them to the government. He expressed confidence that the BMP candidates, armed with comprehensive statistics, will emerge victorious in the federation election and continue serving the business community.

Rafiq Sulaiman, addressing the gathering, announced that the BMP aims to increase rice exports from the current $2.2 billion to $3 billion by the end of the financial year. He highlighted the market expansion efforts, including gaining access to Russian and Chinese markets, as well as exporting 6 million tons of rice to Kenya. Sulaiman assured that the BMP remains committed to addressing challenges faced by the agriculture sector and resolving issues related to uninhabited lands.

Presidential candidate Muhammad Ali drew attention to the high interest rate of 22 percent, emphasizing that it poses a significant obstacle to conducting business. He pledged to provide the government with positive figures and ensure the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.

Imran Tessori, representing the jewelry sector, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in FPCCI and vowed to work in the best interest of all sectors, including jewelry.

Tawqir Malik highlighted the shipping problems faced by the business sector and pledged to address them through the platform of FPCCI.

Naveed Baloch praised the caliber of candidates presented by the BMP and expressed confidence in forming an effective government under their leadership.
