Malaysian Shop Charges RM28 for One Meat and One Vegetable
Economy rice used to be a popular choice for many Malaysians due to its affordability and variety of dishes. However, one Facebook user recently had a surprise when his plate of economy rice ended up costing him RM28! He had purchased the dish from a restaurant in Kinrara, Puchong.
The man shared his experience on Facebook, posting a picture of his meal which consisted of rice, one type of pork, and one type of vegetable. He had packed the food in his lunch box. The total price of RM28 left him questioning whether the high price was due to the pork he had chosen.
In his post, the man admitted that it was his own fault for not inquiring about the price before purchasing the dish. The restaurant had failed to label the price, leading to his unknowingly expensive meal. He took responsibility for his mistake, saying, “As a result, I ended up eating expensive mixed rice and I only have myself to blame.”
The viral post sparked a discussion among netizens, who shared their thoughts on the high price of the plate of mixed rice. Many believed that the price was too expensive for a simple dish. While some acknowledged that the portion of meat was generous, they still believed it should not have cost more than RM20.
This incident serves as a reminder to always inquire about the price of a dish before purchasing, especially if it is not clearly labelled. It also highlights the importance of transparency in pricing for the benefit of customers.
