Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has successfully cracked down on electricity theft in its region, resulting in a total fine of Rs.951.2 million imposed on 9,323 culprits. Over the past 288 days, FESCO’s anti-theft teams have worked tirelessly to catch those involved in pilfering electricity, including 49 individuals within the last 24 hours.

Tahir Sheikh, the spokesman for FESCO, stated that the company has been particularly active in six circles within its region. During this anti-theft campaign, a staggering 9323 power thieves were caught and brought to justice. Under the detection units of 21.7 million, a total fine of Rs.951.2 million was imposed on these offenders. Additionally, cases were registered against 9132 accused individuals. The police have arrested 6974 perpetrators and have successfully recovered Rs.678 million.

Providing further details, Sheikh revealed that FESCO’s anti-theft teams detected electricity theft at 2230 points within the First Circle Faisalabad. These offenders were slapped with a fine of Rs.223.4 million under the detection units of 5190,000 million. In the Second Circle Faisalabad, 1707 electricity thieves were apprehended, resulting in a fine of Rs.173 million under 4256,000 detection units. Likewise, in Jhang Circle, 1054 cases of electricity theft were detected, leading to a fine of Rs.107.2 million under 3044,000 detection units. Sargodha Circle saw the apprehension of 1355 culprits, who were given a fine of Rs.144.8 million under 3120,000 detection units. Mianwali Circle had a total of 2349 consumers involved in electricity theft and they were penalized with a fine amounting to Rs.226.7 million for 4690,000 detection units. Lastly, Toba Tek Singh Circle caught 628 power pilferers, who now have to pay a fine of Rs.75.8 million for 1480,000 detection units.

It is evident that FESCO’s anti-theft campaign has been highly successful in curbing electricity theft in its region. By implementing rigorous measures and conducting regular inspections, FESCO has managed to reclaim lost revenue and discourage future instances of electricity theft. The crackdown on electricity thieves serves as a warning to others who might consider engaging in this illegal activity.
