Noted industrialist and chairman of City Group Fazlur Rahman passes away
On Monday, the renowned industrialist and chairman of City Group, Fazlur Rahman, sadly passed away at a hospital in the capital city. He took his last breath at United Hospital in Dhaka at the age of 77 at around 4:00 am.
Fazlur Rahman remained dedicated to his work until the end, as he was present at his office until Sunday evening. However, he fell ill later that night and was subsequently admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Fazlur Rahman is survived by his beloved wife, one son, and three daughters. His funeral will be held on Monday after Asr prayers at Gandaria’s Dhupkhola ground.
In February 1972, Fazlur Rahman laid the foundation of City Oil Mills, a mustard oil production factory, which eventually paved the way for the establishment of City Group, a prominent business conglomerate.
