The government has announced that the export ban on de-oiled rice bran, a key ingredient in cattle and poultry feed, will be extended until March 31 next year, as stated in a recent notification. This ban was initially imposed in July of this year.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has confirmed in the notification that the export prohibition of de-oiled rice bran will remain in effect until March 31, 2024. Experts believe that the rising prices of feed are contributing to the increasing milk prices in the country. By banning exports, there will be an increase in the availability of this product in the domestic market, which will help to stabilize the rates.

However, the Solvent Extractors Association of India has requested the government to reconsider this decision. They argue that the ban on exports will have minimal impact on cattle feed and milk prices.

Approximately 25% of rice bran extraction is used in cattle feed. It is an essential ingredient for the preparation of cattle and poultry feed, providing important nutrients.

This news highlights the government’s efforts to address the rising milk prices in the country by restricting the export of de-oiled rice bran. By doing so, they aim to ensure an adequate supply of this product in the domestic market, which will help to stabilize prices.
