Pakistan Army Chief expresses displeasure over anti-Pakistan propaganda
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir reaffirmed the military’s dedication to strengthening the nation and promoting the agricultural sector during his address at the National Farmers Convention in Rawalpindi. General Munir emphasized the importance of agriculture and animal husbandry, likening them to prophethood. He pledged to crackdown on any mafias that exploit the nation and collaborate against its interests.
General Munir reminisced about Pakistan’s progress in the 1960s, recognizing the country as an Asian leader at that time. However, he expressed concern over the deviation from Quaid-e-Azam’s three golden principles of faith, unity, and discipline, which led to a decline in recent years.
The army chief highlighted the Green Pakistan Initiative, which aims to prioritize the agriculture sector. Under this initiative, significant portions of resources will be allocated to the provinces, with the remaining portion reserved for farmers and agricultural research. General Munir emphasized the values of discipline, resilience, growth, and patience for those involved in these professions, stating that those who persevere will be rewarded.
General Munir clarified that the military’s role in the Green Pakistan Initiative is to serve the public and support farmers. This includes organizing agricultural expos across all districts, providing farmers with access to agricultural facilities such as easy loans, efficient cold storage, climate-resistant seeds, and genetically engineered livestock.
In addition to supporting the agricultural sector, General Munir stressed the importance of interfaith harmony. He emphasized the need for a positive environment on social media, free from agitation, despair, and chaos. He warned against the spread of misinformation, which can undermine the integrity of the state.
General Munir also took pride in Pakistan’s abundant resources, including glaciers, rivers, mountains, and fertile lands that yield the finest rice and citrus fruits. He also mentioned valuable treasures like granite, gold, and copper found in the country.
Throughout the convention, the farmers enthusiastically chanted slogans of “Long Live Pakistan” and “Long Live the army,” echoing General Munir’s commitment to strengthening the nation and uplifting the agricultural sector.
