Basmati Rice from India Wins the Title of World’s Best Rice

Basmati rice from India has been awarded the prestigious title of the “Best Rice in the World” by TasteAtlas, a renowned food and travel guide. TasteAtlas recently revealed its year-end awards for 2023-24, and Basmati emerged as the deserving winner. Originating from India and Pakistan, Basmati rice is known for its distinctive flavor, enticing aroma, and slightly spicy undertones. It is a long-grain rice variety that adds a nutty and floral touch to any dish.

Unlike other rice varieties, Basmati doesn’t stick together after cooking, allowing sauces and curries to perfectly coat each grain. The length of the grain determines the quality of Basmati, and the finest Basmati grains exude a subtle golden hue. It is no wonder that Basmati has gained international recognition as the finest rice in the world.

Following Basmati, Arborio rice from Italy secured the second position, while Carolino Rice from Portugal claimed the third spot. The top five positions were further filled by rice varieties from Spain and Japan. To know more about these winners, click here. [Source]
