Azerbaijan’s National Airline Successfully Completes First Flight to Pakistan
Azerbaijan’s national carrier, AZAL, has launched direct flight operations to Pakistan, with the inaugural flight landing in Islamabad on Wednesday. This new service will provide easier travel options between the two nations.
According to the airline’s website, AZAL will be operating two weekly flights from Baku to Islamabad. The next flight is scheduled for November 4th, with a flight time of three hours and 50 minutes.
In April of this year, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov announced the launch of direct flights from Azerbaijan to Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The ambassador emphasized that these flights would contribute to increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.
Along with trade, Islamabad and Baku are also focused on strengthening relationships in various sectors such as agriculture, trade, banking, IT, tourism, transport, energy, and health.
Furthermore, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has exempted customs duty on rice imports from Pakistan, demonstrating the commitment to boosting trade ties between the two nations.
This new direct flight service and the exemption of customs duty on rice imports are significant developments for the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. It is expected that these initiatives will enhance economic cooperation and promote closer ties.
