Assam CM deems Congress manifesto better suited for Pakistan elections
Assam CM Calls Congress Manifesto “Appeasement Politics”
Guwahati- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Congress’ manifesto, comparing it to a manifesto for Pakistan elections. Sarma stated that the Congress’ manifesto is focused on appeasement policies and aims to divide the society to gain power. He condemned their approach and urged people to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the occasion of its foundation day.
The Congress party’s manifesto includes promises to abolish the Agniveer scheme, reject the “one nation, one election” proposal, reinstate the Planning Commission, review the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and national education policy, implement women’s reservation rights immediately, restore the previous border status with China in Ladakh, and remove the current Manipur government.
According to the manifesto, the Congress party acknowledges the deteriorating situation in Manipur and vows to address it by removing the current state government and establishing a reconciliation commission to bring about a political and administrative settlement that satisfies all residents of the state.
Key Promises of the Manifesto
- Implementation of an MSP (Minimum Support Price) law for farmers
- Allocation of Rs 1 lakh annually to women from poor households
- Rs 1 lakh stipend with apprenticeship for every graduate and diploma holder for one year
- Minimum wage of Rs 400 per day
It is apparent that the Congress party’s manifesto focuses on a range of issues and makes several promises to improve various aspects of governance and citizen welfare.
