Iranian ambassador emphasizes plans to reinforce ties with Pakistan
Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, recently met with Federal Minister of Industry and Production and National Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain, to discuss bilateral cooperation and mutual interests between the two countries. During the meeting, both leaders expressed their desire to strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and Iran.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer emphasized the close bond between Pakistan and Iran, stating that the two countries are like brothers and neighbors. Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam echoed this sentiment and expressed Iran’s commitment to enhance cooperation with Pakistan in various fields.
One area of interest highlighted during the meeting was the import of meat, rice, and agricultural products from Pakistan. The Iranian ambassador specifically mentioned the desire to import mangoes and kinnows from Pakistan. To facilitate this, the two countries are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on livestock quarantine and plant protection during the visit of the Iranian president in the near future.
Additionally, the Iranian Minister of Industry extended an invitation to the Federal Minister to participate in the upcoming meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tehran. This demonstrates the growing importance of collaboration between Pakistan and Iran on regional and international platforms.
