During Solar Pakistan 2024, JA Solar, a prominent manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic (PV) products, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreements with Garibsons, SM Solar, and Wasiq Traders, all Pakistani firms. These agreements, with a total capacity of 600MW, are a significant milestone in promoting sustainable and low-carbon energy solutions in Pakistan. JA Solar is dedicated to working closely with its partners to support the country’s transition to greener energy.

Garibsons, established in 1974, is the largest rice exporter in Pakistan, operating in over 100 countries worldwide. The company is not only focused on providing high-quality rice products but also on sustainable development and environmental protection. The MOU with JA Solar aligns with Garibsons’ commitment to sustainable energy solutions and environmental responsibility.

SM Solar, a subsidiary of the Nishat Chunian Group, a key player in the textile and power sectors of Pakistan, has also signed an MOU with JA Solar. This agreement focuses on the supply of n-type PV modules and reflects SM Solar’s dedication to promoting the use of renewable energy sources and contributing to the green and sustainable development of energy in Pakistan.

Wasiq Traders specializes in the import of PV modules and inverters and is the leading PV module importer in Pakistan. The company has signed an MOU with JA Solar to supply PV modules in the Pakistani market, aiming to promote the development of the local PV industry.

JA Solar entered the n-type product market in 2022 and released its first n-type module product. In 2023, the company launched the new generation n-type flagship module DeepBlue 4.0 Pro, which incorporates technologies such as Bycium+ cell technology, SMBB, and high-density encapsulation. These advancements lead to lower attenuation, higher bifacial power generation, and improved high-temperature power generation performance. The flagship module, measuring 2465mm*1134mm with 72 cells, achieves a maximum production power of 635W and a conversion efficiency of 22.8%, making it the most powerful product in the current 182 series PV modules.

This agreement signifies the development of cooperation between JA Solar and Garibsons, SM Solar, and Wasiq Traders. It also represents a concrete initiative by all parties to promote the renewable energy industry and make significant contributions to the development of Pakistan’s PV industry, supporting the country’s green and low-carbon transition.
