Pakistan to Restrict entry of Iran’s Ambassador After Missile Strike
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its concern over a missile attack by Iran on Pakistani territory, resulting in the death of two children. The ministry has summoned Iran’s representative in Islamabad to address this “unjustified violation” of Pakistan’s airspace. The violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is deemed completely unacceptable, and there may be serious consequences.
Explosions were reported in Balochistan, a province in western Pakistan that shares a border with Iran. Reports suggest that the city of Panjgur was affected. Iran’s state-run news agency, Nour News, stated that the attack targeted the “Justice Army (Jaish ul-Adl)” group’s headquarters in Pakistan, destroying them with missiles and drones. The Jaish ul-Adl movement confirmed the attack through a statement.
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs is particularly concerned about Iran’s actions, highlighting the importance of bilateral trust and good neighborly relations. It emphasizes that such unilateral actions are not compatible with these values.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has previously carried out attacks in Iraq and Syria, claiming to have targeted a Mossad spy service “command center” in Erbil, the capital of the autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq. However, the attack resulted in civilian casualties. The IRGC also claimed to have launched rockets at an ISIS meeting place in Syria.
The Prime Minister of Iraq has condemned the IRGC’s attack on Erbil, describing it as a clear hostile act against Iraq. The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has filed a complaint with the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations, highlighting the loss of innocent lives, injuries, and damage to property caused by the Iranian regime’s missile attack.
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has also criticized the missile attack on Erbil, calling it unjustifiable and expressing concerns about the civilian casualties.
The Iranian regime’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations has defended the attack, claiming that it targeted a spy center used by anti-Iranian terrorist groups affiliated with the Israeli regime. Iraqi authorities have rejected these claims and formed a committee to prove their falsehood.
In response to the missile attacks, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has canceled a meeting with the Iranian regime’s Foreign Minister at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as a sign of protest.
