Union Minister Smriti Irani’s recent visit to Madinah in Saudi Arabia has caused quite a stir in Pakistan. Her visit, which is being hailed as historic, involved meetings with Indian volunteers who provide assistance to Haj pilgrims, as well as interactions with Umrah pilgrims.

Out of this quota, 140,020 seats have been reserved for pilgrims who will be facilitated by the Haj Committee of India, while the remaining 35,005 seats will be available for those traveling with Haj Group Operators.
