Shipping Activity at Port Qasim Soars: Latest Updates on Seaport Operations

Three ships, namely Ananya Naree, Seapower-I, and Oriental Jasmine, arrived at the Multi-Purpose Terminal, Grain Terminal, and Engro Terminal in Karachi on Sunday. These ships are scheduled to load and offload Rice, Wheat, and Chemicals.

Additionally, four more ships, MSC Jemima, MSC Antigua, Yihai, and Flex Volunteer, have arrived at the outer-anchorage of Port Qasim in the past 24 hours. These ships will be involved in loading and offloading Containers, Palm Kernel, and LNG.

During the last 24 hours, a total of seven ships were engaged at PQA berths. The edible oil carrier ship ‘Ardmore’ has already left the port, while three more ships, Ianthe, Oriental Jasmine, and Sibulk Tradition, are expected to sail on the same day.

The port handled a cargo volume of 101,570 tonnes in the last 24 hours. This cargo included 57,117 tonnes of imported goods and 44,453 tonnes of exported goods. A total of 1,021 containers were handled, with 34 TEUs for imports and 987 TEUs for exports.

Currently, there are eight ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Out of these, five ships, MSC Jemima, MSC Antigua, Yihai, Curacao, and Flex Volunteer, are expected to take berths at QICT, MW, PIBT, and PGPCL respectively. They will be carrying containers, palm kernel, coal, and LNG. Additionally, two more container ships, Maersk Detroit, and MSC Desiree, are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.

Overall, the port activity in Karachi has been busy, with multiple ships arriving and departing, carrying various goods and commodities. This highlights the importance of Pakistan as a hub for trade and maritime activities.
