Myanmar’s Rice and Broken Rice Exports Decline in November
In November of this year, Myanmar exported a total of 175,990 tons of rice and broken rice, as announced by the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) on Friday. However, this figure marks a decrease compared to the 264,037 tons exported in November of the previous year.
Out of the total exports, 94,203 tons accounted for rice exports, while the remaining 81,787 tons were broken rice. The majority of these exports, around 157,070 tons, were shipped through sea routes, while the rest were transported via land border gates.
Myanmar’s rice and broken rice exports reached more than 20 countries last month, including Indonesia, the Philippines, China, Poland, Malaysia, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Vietnam.
From April to November of the current fiscal year (2023-24), Myanmar generated a revenue of $361 million from the export of 759,673 tons of rice and broken rice, according to the data provided by the MRF.
While there has been a decrease in exports compared to last year, Myanmar continues to play a significant role in the international rice market. The country’s dedication to supplying quality rice to various countries is commendable.
