Soft demand leads to easing of India’s rice rates in Asia.
Prices of parboiled rice exported from India have slightly decreased due to a slowdown in demand. The disruptions caused by a cyclone at the Kakinada port in Andhra Pradesh have also impacted rice milling in the state. Despite the decrease in prices, buyers are still hesitant to make purchases.
In Vietnam, the prices of 5% broken rice remain unchanged, but trading activity is slow as prices are considered too high for some buyers. The tight supplies and high domestic prices of paddy are factors contributing to the sustained prices in Vietnam.
Thailand has seen a slight softening in the prices of 5% broken rice as demand has shifted to other Southeast Asian countries.
Overall, the rice exporters are facing challenges in maintaining demand and prices, but the market remains stable for now.
