Shipping activity at the port of Karachi was reported to be busy as several ships arrived and departed for loading/offloading rice, wheat, LNG, and gas oil. Ten ships were engaged at the Port Qasim Authority berths, with an oil tanker leaving the port on Wednesday morning. Four more ships are expected to sail in the afternoon.
During the last 24 hours, the port handled a cargo throughput of 178,524 tonnes, including 127,270 tonnes of imports and 51,254 tonnes of exports. This included containerized cargo carried in 5,690 containers.
Currently, there are 13 ships at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, two ships, Al-Dayyan and Ardmore Engineer, are expected to berth at EET, FOTCO, and PIBT on Wednesday, carrying LNG, gas oil, and coal.
