Shipping activity increases at Port Qasim
## Seven Ships Berth at Port Qasim, Karachi
On Tuesday, seven ships arrived at different terminals in Port Qasim, Karachi. These ships were carrying a variety of goods including containers, palm oil, gas oil, chemicals, and LPG. The ships docked at the Container Terminal, Liquid Terminal, Oil Terminal, Engro Terminal, and Sui Southern Terminal respectively.
In addition to these ships, three more vessels arrived at the outer anchorage of the port in the last 24 hours. These ships were scheduled to load or offload rice, coal, and gas oil.
During the same time period, a total of eleven ships were engaged at the berths of Port Qasim. Two ships, named Al-Dayyan and Blue Majesty, left the port on Wednesday morning, and six more ships are expected to set sail in the afternoon.
In terms of cargo throughput, the port handled a total of 172,955 tonnes of goods in the last 24 hours. This included 118,288 tonnes of import cargo and 54,667 tonnes of export cargo. Among the import and export cargo, there were 6,679 containers, with 4,160 TEUs of imports and 2,519 TEUs of exports.
Currently, there are nine ships at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim, waiting for their turn to dock. Three of these ships, namely Abraham Schulte, CMB Chicago, and Ceilo Di Houston, are scheduled to load or offload rice, coal, gas oil, and containers. They are expected to take berths at MW-2, PIBT, FOTCO, and QICT on Wednesday.
