Anwar discusses Pakistan-Iran relations through bilateral talks

RIYADH: Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held productive bilateral talks with Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakr, the caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan since August, during the 8th Extraordinary Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting focused on addressing the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine.

Anwar Ibrahim, accompanied by Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and Foreign Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin, emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in Palestine and the importance of providing humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. The meeting took place at the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Centre, where leaders and delegates from OIC member states convened.

Earlier in the day, Anwar Ibrahim also engaged in bilateral discussions with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi as part of his extensive efforts to address the Palestinian issue and condemn Israel’s continued military aggression.

During his address to the Islamic leaders in attendance, Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of OIC member countries consistently and assertively demanding an immediate ceasefire. He also emphasized the need to expedite humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza.

As the summit progresses, Anwar Ibrahim continues to engage with various leaders to promote a united stance against the Israeli aggression and advocate for the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people.
