government working on enhancing agriculture and export sector, says Gohar
Caretaker Minister for Commerce and Industries, Gohar Ejaz, announced on Friday that the government is developing a strategy to enhance the agricultural and export sectors. He highlighted the progress made in rice and cotton crops during an interview with a private television channel.
Ejaz emphasized that Pakistan possesses abundant natural resources and stressed the importance of implementing comprehensive policies. He proudly stated, “Our exports are steadily increasing,” and revealed that numerous foreign companies have shown a keen interest in exporting meat, rice, and cotton from Pakistan.
The minister further noted that Pakistani products have gained international recognition and stated that the government is actively exploring opportunities to expand into the markets of Central Asian States and the African region. The goal is to introduce more Pakistani products to these markets.
During the interview, Ejaz also addressed the reduction in imports, circular debt in the gas sector, and inflation. He emphasized that the caretaker government has taken steps to tackle these issues.
Additionally, the minister expressed the government’s commitment to combating smuggling and corruption, further emphasizing the importance of these efforts.
Overall, the government’s aim is to strengthen the agriculture and export sectors, make use of Pakistan’s abundant natural resources, and increase the presence of Pakistani products in international markets.
